"What, did you think Jason would lie?" Nessie puts a hand on her hip and gives Donna a look. "He's my friend, but I'll grant you didn't know that. Still... what possible benefit could he have to lying about me?"

Nessie looks over at Jason, silently asking for some help -- or at least the truth. She can work with information, but not the refusal to share it.

She switches her attention back to Donna and says calmly, "If you want to talk, that's fine. That's probably fair. There's a couple benches near the big oak that we can claim for a while."
